This is an excellent essay, written almost 150 years ago, which is unfortunately still very appropriate. “War for profit” has worked for a very long time but it is wearing thin, now that we understand the dynamics behind it.
Who compose the real governing power in the country? Who are the men, the responsible men, who rob us of our property? Restrain us of our liberty? Subject us to their arbitrary dominion? And devastate our homes, and shoot us down by the hundreds of thousands, if we resist? How shall we find these men? How shall we know them from others? How shall we defend ourselves and our property against them? Who, of our neighbors, are members of this secret band of robbers and murderers? How can we know which are their houses, that we may burn or demolish them? Which their property, that we may destroy it? Which their persons, that we may kill them, and rid the world and ourselves of such tyrants and monsters?
These are questions that must be answered, before men can be free; before they can protect themselves against this secret band of robbers and murderers, who now plunder, enslave, and destroy them.
The answer to these questions is, that only those who have the will and power to shoot down their fellow men, are the real rulers in this, as in all other (so-called) civilized countries; for by no others will civilized men be robbed, or enslaved.

- three to four million Southeast Asian deaths;
- ousting Chile’s Salvador Allende; replacing him with Augusto Pinochet; followed by 17 years of state terror;
- support for other Latin American despots;
- backing Surharto’s West Papua takeover; his East Timor invasion; massacring hundreds of thousands;
- supported the Khmer Rouge’s rise to power; its reign of terror early on;
- backed Pakistan’s overthrow of Bangladesh’s democratically elected government; causing half a million deaths; and
- various other high crimes against peace (hire criminal defense lawyer to resolve this quickly without making into a big issue).
Including manipulating geopolitical events for his own benefit. Gain power and influence. Accumulate wealth.
The late Chistopher Hitchens said he deserved prosecution “for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and offenses against common or customary international law, including conspiracy to commit murder, kidnap, and torture.”
He called him “a stupendous liar with a remarkable memory…”

Scientist calls for death to humanity in 2006 – using airborne ebola

A Texas scientist advocates killing nine-tenths of the world’s population by an airborne Ebola virus, writes John Ballantyne.
An award-winning Texas scientist was given a standing ovation after he advocated the extermination of 90 per cent of the Earth’s population by an airborne Ebola virus.
The University of Texas evolutionary ecologist, Dr Eric R. Pianka, was addressing the 109th meeting of the Texas Academy of Science at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, in early March, after the academy had named him 2006 Distinguished Texas Scientist.
Present at Pianka’s speech was Forrest M. Mim III, a popular science writer and editor of the bi-weekly journal, The Citizen Scientist. He reported:
"Something curious occurred a minute before Pianka began speaking. An official of the Academy approached a video camera operator at the front of the auditorium and engaged him in animated conversation. The camera operator did not look pleased as he pointed the lens of the big camera to the ceiling and slowly walked away.
"This curious incident came to mind a few minutes later when Professor Pianka began his speech by explaining that the general public is not yet ready to hear what he was about to tell us. Because of many years of experience as a writer and editor, Pianka’s strange introduction and the TV camera incident raised a red flag in my mind … I grabbed a notepad …" ("Meeting Doctor Doom", The Citizen Scientist, March 31, 2006).
Pianka began his speech by condemning anthropocentrism, or the idea that the human race occupies a privileged position in nature. He exclaimed, "We’re no better than bacteria!"
He argued that the sharp increase in the human population since the onset of industrialisation was destroying the planet. He warned that Earth would not survive unless its human population was reduced to a tenth of its present number.
