Setting children on the road to drug addiction
Of 170 panel members of the newly revised Diagnostic and Statistics Manual, 95 (56 percent) had one or more financial associations with companies in the pharmaceutical industry. One hundred percent of the members of the panels on ‘Mood Disorders’ and ‘Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders’ had financial ties to drug companies.
The assistant director of the Pediatric Psychopharmacology Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital and associate professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School received $1 million from drug companies between 2000 and 2007.
A study of pharmaceutical promotion in 2004 shows that the U.S. pharmaceutical industry spent 24.4 percent of the sales dollar on promotion versus 13.4 percent for research and development. In other words, they spent almost twice as much money to push their drugs than the amount to research their safety.

The Fictitious Disease Called ADHD
“ADHD is a prime example of a fictitious disease.”
These were the words of Leon Eisenberg, the “scientific father of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder),” in his last interview he gave before his death at age 87 in 2009.
Dr. Edward C. Hamlyn, a founding member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, in 1998 stated,
“ADHD is fraud intended to justify starting children on a life of drug addiction.”
The lesson? “Just say NO!” to all drugs – legal or illegal. Research better, friendlier, less expensive ways of dealing with health problems.

Obama signs ‘Monsanto Protection Act’ written by Monsanto-sponsored senator
United States President Barack Obama has signed a bill into law that was written in part by the very billion-dollar corporation that will benefit directly from the legislation.
On Tuesday, Pres. Obama inked his name to H.R. 933, a continuing resolution spending bill approved in Congress days earlier. Buried 78 pages within the bill exists a provision that grossly protects biotech corporations such as the Missouri-based Monsanto Company from litigation.
With the president’s signature, agriculture giants that deal with genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and genetically engineered (GE) seeds are given the go-ahead to continue to plant and sell man-made crops, even as questions remain largely unanswered about the health risks these types of products pose to consumers.
In light of approval from the House and Senate, more than 250,000 people signed a petition asking the president to veto the spending bill over the biotech rider tacked on, an item that has since been widely referred to as the “Monsanto Protection Act.”
“But Obama ignored [the petition],” IB Times’ Connor Sheets writes, “instead choosing to sign a bill that effectively bars federal courts from being able to halt the sale or planting of GMO or GE crops and seeds, no matter what health consequences from the consumption of these products may come to light in the future…”
